Marcus Jordan Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Marcus Jordan, son of basketball icon Michael Jordan, was arrested in Florida on drug possession and resisting arrest charges after his vehicle became stuck on train tracks, according to an arrest affidavit.

The 34-year-old Orlando resident was taken into custody early Tuesday morning in Maitland. An officer spotted a blue Lamborghini SUV stopped on the railroad tracks and alerted SunRail, the local commuter rail system, before approaching the vehicle, the affidavit states.

Authorities discovered that Marcus Jordan had recently fled from a traffic stop in a neighboring county. Upon approaching him, officers detected the smell of alcohol and observed his slurred speech and apparent confusion. When he exited the vehicle, they found a bag containing a substance that later tested positive for cocaine in his pants, according to the arrest report.

Jordan, a former University of Central Florida basketball player, was released from the Orange County Jail on Tuesday and declined to speak with reporters.

The affidavit also noted that officers detected the odor of alcohol and observed Jordan’s slurred speech, as well as red, bloodshot, and glassy eyes.
