The release date was announced, with the caption, “A ziddi rajkumar meets a girlboss aamkumari Royal mess, ya shahi love story? Watch The Royals, out 9 May, only on Netflix (sic).” Bhumi Pednekar plays Sophia Shekhar, the CEO of Work Potato. Ishaan Khatter plays a prince, named Aviraaj Singh. The teaser for the series, which was released in February, showed the audience the thrilling life of the royals of Morpur. Bhumi’s character seemed to be at loggerheads with Ishaan’s character.

The series directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana boasts of an ensemble star cast including Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny.

During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Vihaan Samat had opened up about The Royals. “The Royals is about a royal family. There are various players in it. I play a member of the royal family. There are some fantastic characters that people are going to see, including Zeenat Aman ma’am. She will be seen in a brand new avatar.”
