We have some exciting updates on Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King. As per recent reports, Arshad Warsi has joined the Siddharth Anand directorial, which will go on floors in the second half of this year. If this is indeed true, then it will mark Arshad’s second collaboration with SRK, nearly two decades after the 2005 film Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye. As reported by Peepingmoon, “Details about Arshad’s character are under wraps, but his casting has further elevated the anticipation for this film.” Besides King Khan and Warsi, the film features a stellar cast including Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma. Deepika Padukone will also be making a special appearance, if reports are to be believed.

Meanwhile, another report suggested that the film will go on floors in July this year instead of May. The reason cited was that SRK is not satisfied with the script. A source quoted by a leading publication stated, “Scripting is going on. The makers want to ensure they have a terrific script at hand before the camera starts rolling. King not only sees Suhana coming on the big screen for the first time but also features the father-daughter duo together. Keeping these factors in mind, Shah Rukh wants the team to take their time to polish the material and deliver an ambitious movie. The team is now planning to begin filming in July-August.”
