AR Rahman Discharged From Hospital, His Team Refutes Chest Pain Reports

Music maestro AR Rahman was admitted to the hospital last night. There is good news for his fans and well-wishers, the Oscar-winning composer has now been discharged from the hospital. Reports were doing the rounds stating that he was admitted to the Apollo hospital in Chennai after complaining about chest pain. However, his team refuted this claim and said that the music maestro was hospitalized after a bout of dehydration and neck pain following travel.

All tests taken by the doctors showed normal results, following which he was discharged. His team said, “It’s fake news (on heart issues) spreading now. Rahman went to the hospital because he got dehydrated and has neck pain due to travel.”

AR Rahman Hospitalised

The composer is currently busy with his music projects. Last month, he shared the stage with Ed Sheeran during the latter’s concert in Chennai. The two sang an epic mash-up of Rahman’s Urvasi and Sheeran’s Shape of You. Earlier ahead of the concert, Ed Sheeran and AR Rahman met along with the latter’s son AR Ameen. Rahman shared snaps of them hanging out in a studio. Take a look:

Recently, he also made headlines during the music album launch of the film Chhaava. During the event, he seemingly alluded to Ranveer Allahbadia’s India’s Got Latent controversy. In an on-stage interaction, Vicky Kaushal asked AR Rahman which emoji best describes his music. Responding to the question, Rahman said, “The mouth shut emoji. I think in the past week we saw what happens when mouths open.”
In a career spanning over three decades, the maestro contributed to not just India but the global music landscape.  He started by composing scores for documentaries and jingles for advertisements. He was then approached by filmmaker Mani Ratnam for his film Roja. There was no looking back for the maestro after that.
