The investigation into Sushant’s death, which spanned nearly five years, involved thorough forensic analysis, inspection of the crime scene, and recorded statements from those close to Rajput. However, the CBI has maintained that there is no conclusive evidence suggesting that Rajput was influenced by anyone to take his life.

The investigation cited a forensic report from AIIMS, which dismissed initial claims of strangulation or poisoning. Moreover, the postmortem report from Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital confirmed that the cause of death was asphyxia due to hanging.

Satish Maneshinde, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, reacted to the CBI’s decision. “We are grateful to the CBI for having thoroughly investigated every aspect of the case from all angles and closed the case,” he told PTI.
