He specifically pointed out Paw Patrol — a show his daughter loved — and how it bothered him that all the male dogs got the cool gear, exciting missions, and screen time, while the one female dog had barely anything to do. “All the boy dogs are doing the stuff and the girl dog is not getting the footage,” he noted. That moment made him realise how early gender roles start getting reinforced. Now, as a parent, he’s more mindful of picking stories where Imara sees girls leading from the front, not sitting on the sidelines.

Looking back at his own journey, Imran also reflected on his early years in front of the camera. Though many remember his child roles in his uncle Aamir Khan’s films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, it was Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na in 2008, that truly marked the beginning of his career as a leading man. That film not only introduced him to a new generation of fans but also gave him his own identity in the industry, separate from the legacy of his famous family.
In the Ring With Filmfare continues to bring out these rare, unguarded moments from celebrities — giving fans a chance to see a more personal, thoughtful side of the stars they’ve grown up watching. For Imran, this conversation was less about the limelight and more about growth, perspective, and the little girl who’s now changed the way he sees the world.
