Hrithik Roshan Reveals He’s Nervous About Directing Krrish 4

After years of waiting, Krrish 4 is finally gearing up to go on floors—and it’s coming with a major twist. The long-running superhero franchise is taking a bold new direction, with Hrithik Roshan stepping in not just as the lead actor but also as the director for the first time. The big announcement came on March 28 through Rakesh Roshan’s social media, sending fans into a frenzy. With the franchise being one of the most iconic in Indian cinema, this move marks a significant milestone in Hrithik’s career, both in front of and behind the camera.

Opening up for the first time about turning director, Hrithik shared his emotions at a recent event in Atlanta, Georgia. “For how nervous I am, I need all the encouragement I possibly can,” he admitted, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Clearly moved by the support, he added with a smile, “I’ll take all this love back with me.” His words revealed both his excitement and the pressure of taking on such a big responsibility.

Rakesh Roshan, who launched Hrithik’s career in 2000 with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, shared a heartfelt post to mark the occasion. “Duggu, 25 years back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers—Aditya Chopra & myself—to take forward our most ambitious film Krrish 4,” he wrote. He ended the note by saying,“Wish you all the success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!”

The Krrish franchise, which began with Koi… Mil Gaya in 2003, has been a defining part of Hrithik’s career. The first film introduced audiences to Jaadu, an alien who became an instant hit. While Jaadu didn’t appear in later films, his presence shaped the story’s foundation. Krrish (2006) brought in Priyanka Chopra as the female lead, and Krrish 3 (2013) featured Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi as supervillains. As of now, the official cast and release date for Krrish 4 are yet to be announced, but buzz suggests Nora Fatehi may join the cast, and Preity Zinta—already set to return to films with Lahore 1947—might also make an appearance.
