The opening day occupancy was reported at just 9.10%, which suggests that people weren’t flocking to theatres as expected. Still, there’s hope that word of mouth could give Jaat the push it needs in the coming days. It’s always possible for films to gain momentum after an underwhelming start, so we’ll see if it can turn things around. But right now, it looks like Jaat has a long way to go to match the craze that Gadar 2 created.

Sunny’s family, however, is all smiles and full of support. At a recent event, Hema Malini and Esha Deol were full of positive energy, sending good vibes to Sunny. Hema said that both she and Dharmendra were thrilled about how people are responding to the film, adding, “Dharam ji is very happy, and so am I. It feels wonderful to see the audience enjoying the film.” Their words reflect the genuine pride they feel for Sunny, no matter what the box office numbers are showing right now.

Jaat has a strong supporting cast with Saiyami Kher, Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar Singh, and while Sunny shines in his action-packed and comedic moments, the film has been critiqued for trying to do too much. According to Filmfare, the performances are solid—especially Randeep Hooda and Regina Cassandra—but the film gets a bit lost in its many ideas. With a 3/5 rating, it’s being called entertaining but not a standout hit. There’s definitely some fun to be had, but whether it can sustain that energy long-term remains to be seen.
