Val Kilmer will always be remembered.
In the hours following the legendary actor’s death from pneumonia at the age of 65 April 1, an outpouring of tributes from loved ones and former costars were shared in monument to his legacy.
Josh Brolin, alongside a photo with Val, wrote on Instagram later the same day, “See ya, pal. I’m going to miss you. You were a smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative firecracker. There’s not a lot left of those.”
“I hope to see you up there in the heavens when I eventually get there,” the Marvel actor continued. “Until then, amazing memories, lovely thoughts.”
Josh Gad also paid tribute to Val’s iconic filmography, which boasts movies such as Top Gun, Batman Forever, Tombstone and Heat.
“RIP Val Kilmer,” Josh wrote on Instagram beneath a photo of the actor as Top Gun’s Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. “Thank you for defining so many of the movies of my childhood. You truly were an icon.”
