Taylor Swift’s Pal Lena Dunham Says She’s Protective of Her in “Every Single Way”
Lena Dunham is back in the spotlight.
The Girls star was spotted in public for the first time in seven months on March 31 at a Trans Day of Visibility rally in Washington D.C. Dressed in a sleeveless pink sweater and matching pink eye shadow and with the U.S. Capital as her backdrop, she expressed her support of the Christopher Street Project, an organization created to “build and leverage political power to make equity a reality for transgender people across the country.”
And Lena wasn’t the only one speaking, as several U.S. representatives—including Florida’s Maxwell Frost, Pennsylvania’s Summer Lee, Massachusetts’ Katherine Clark, and more—took to the podium to condemn President Donald Trump and his administration’s recent legislation targeting transgender individuals.
For the Tiny Future actor, this marks her first public appearance since September 2024. In recent years, Lena has taken a step back from the spotlight, citing body-shaming as a main cause.
As a result, she previously shared that she won’t appear as herself in her upcoming semi-autobiographical series Too Much, instead casting actor Megan Stalter in her place.
