These are Jayne Mansfield’s stories.

Nearly 60 years after the untimely death of the 1950s Hollywood star, her daughter Mariska Hargitay announced My Mom Jayne, a new HBO documentary about her mom’s life that she both directed and produced, will be released in June.

“I feel grateful, fulfilled and so proud to share this film,” the Law & Order: SVU star—whose dad was actor and bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay—wrote on Instagram April 8. “I never got to make a movie with my mom, and she never got to make the kind of movies she wanted to make. #MyMomJayne is a place of meeting for us, and words fail me to describe how meaningful it is to tell her story, my own, and ours together.”

Throughout the 1950s and 60s, Jayne, known for her signature blonde hair and pink aesthetic, established herself as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Beyond her time as a Playboy Playmate, she also starred in Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? and The Girl Can’t Help It. However, in 1967, the Golden Globe winner tragically died in a traffic collision at the age of 34, leaving Mariska at 3 years old with a desire to know her mom more.
