“I love Cody with all my heart,” she said. “He is my person. I will stand by him. He genuinely deserves so much compassion right now, and I just I hope you guys will support him and me as we navigate this.”
In a followup video shared April 5, Mikayla said Cody was “making so much progress in rehab” and that the two talk on FaceTime almost every day.
Cody had shared his experience with addiction in a 2022 TikTok video with his wife, noting that he had undergone treatment in the past and was more than two years sober.
“Even before I found drugs I was just a sad person. I didn’t feel accepted,” he recalled as Mikayla held his hand. “So when I did find drugs, that gave me people to be around who I thought were friends at the time and it helped me escape from self.”
Cody thanked fans for supporting him and his journey as well as Mikayla, who has spoken about her eating disorder and mental health struggles, noting, “it means the world to us.”
