Pierce Brosnan Reacts to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bond Rumors

Pierce Brosnan did not appear shaken by the latest James Bond casting rumor, but he was stirred.

Following months of online speculation that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is being considered for the role of 007, Brosnan—who played the British secret agent in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day between 1995 and 2002—shared his thoughts about the possible casting choice.

“I think he would be very good,” the 71-year-old told Yahoo! Entertainment in an interview posted April 3, adding that the two had starred together on a 2009 film he executive produced. “I cast him in one of the movies I made a long time ago called The Greatest, actually, and he played ‘the Greatest.'”

Taylor-Johnson, 34, was 18 when he worked with Brosnan on the drama film. “This young man came on the set,” the 007 alum continued, “and took the space, filled the space with passion and energy. So yeah, I think if he wished it, wanted it and got it, he would be great.”
