Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently making waves for his upcoming film L2: Empuraan alongside Mohanlal. Amidst the buzz, the actor has finally broken his silence on all the speculation around his involvement in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated film SSMB 29 which features Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The rumours started after photos of Prithviraj from the sets of the film in Odisha surfaced online. His clicks with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu had fans convinced he’s a part of the film.

Prithviraj revealed he’s a part of SSMB 29

In an interview with a leading news portal, Prithviraj addressed the rumours. The actor joked that since photos and videos from the sets of SSMB 29 are out, he cannot pretend he was there for “sightseeing.” He also revealed that he has been a part of the project for over a year. However, he did not share any further information about his role in the film and the extent of his involvement.

This comes after several pictures and videos from the set of SSMB 29 emerged online. In one photo, Priyanka Chopra Jonas can be seen signing a note that reads, “Dear Koraput, thank you for the warm hospitality. Looking forward to many such adventures. With love from the sets of SSMB 29.” In a video, Rajamouli can be seen accepting a gift from the locals before wrapping up the shooting schedule.

SS Rajamouli’s SSMB 29 comes after the massive, global success of RRR. While the plot has been kept under wraps, it is being described as an adventure film. Written by Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, the film went on floors in January 2025 after a grand puja ceremony. It marks Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ first collaboration.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj is focused on promoting his upcoming directorial L2: Empuraan, a follow-up to the 2019 film Lucifer. The film is set for release on March 27.
