Sudiksha Konanki Case: Person of Interest Details Terrifying Last Encounter Before Disappearance
Sudiksha Konanki‘s family have made a heartbreaking request.
More than 10 days after the University of Pittsburgh student disappeared during a spring break trip to Punta Cana, her loved ones have asked police in the Dominican Republic to declare her dead, according to NBC News, citing a police spokesman Diego Pesqueira.
According to the outlet, Pesqueira said her family sent the Dominican Republic National Police a letter requesting the declaration of death.
Officials previously shared Mar. 9 they believed Konanki had died by drowning. Despite an extensive search by authorities, her body has not been found.
The 20-year-old was last seen early in the morning on Mar. 6 after going to the beach with friends. Konanki reportedly stayed behind with people she’d met on the trip after her friends went back to the hotel.
Since Konanki went missing, a senior from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota Joshua Riibe has been identified as likely the last person to have seen Konanki alive. He has been identified as a person of interest in the case, though not a suspect.
